A new child care center with a focus on education is opening in Texarkana and is currently taking application for children 6 weeks of age to 12-years-old. Klondike Academy will open its doors to the public on Monday, June 5.
Press Release:
The anticipation of the childcare center, formerly owned by Minton’s Sportsplex, has been on the minds of many Texarkana residents. The anticipation is over. Klondike Academy, an Education Child Care facility, will open its doors to the public on Monday, June 5, 2017.
At Klondike Academy, children won’t be put in front of a television with ample amounts of snacks and entertainment to waste the day away. They will instead have a structured and fun learning environment to stay engaged and active throughout their academic day.
The teachers at Klondike Academy will help build the children’s confidence, creativity, and critical thinking skills, and promote positive outcomes. “We’ve chosen a curriculum that engages a child’s creative nature while they conduct hands-on, project-based investigations into the world around them,“ said Pamela Reynolds, Curriculum Advisor, and Owner. The children will learn from ten core components of our program: Social-Emotional, Physical, Language, Cognitive, Literacy, Mathematics, Science and Technology, Social Studies, The Arts, and English Language Acquisition.
In addition to the amazing curriculum, Klondike Academy will have kid fitness classes, intro to Spanish, music classes, art classes, and leadership training. Klondike Academy is currently taking applications for children 6 weeks to 12 years old. The state of the art facility will have extended hours from 6:30am-8pm. There will be after school programs and summer program available for older children.
