Pink U Health and Wellness Event for Girls Scheduled for October 22

The Diamonds Council of the Girl Scouts of America have scheduled the 2016 Pink U Health & Wellness Event for October 22nd at Texarkana College. This event is not just for Girl Scouts, but for all girls between 5 and 18 years of age.

This years event will focus on healthy living with sessions on self-defense, aerobics, nutrition, first aid skills and fashion. The Texarkana College Culinary, and Cosmetology departments will be volunteering time to teach the girls healthy cooking be preparing a healthy lunch, and about skin care and make-up application. There will be a modeling and confidence class for all of the girls and in the afternoon the girls will put on a fashion show.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and the Diamond Council of the Girl Scouts of America continue to support the Susan G. Komen Foundation, and the Fashion Show will give the girls the opportunity to model their wildest pink fashions on the runway for an audience of Breast Cancer Survivors and other guests.

Girls ages 5-18 are invited to attend “Pink U”. This event is for females only with an adult female of their choosing. Girls’ parents and breast cancer survivors are invited to be the fashion show audience.
