The Texarkana Arkansas Police are seeking a suspect they have identified as a juvenile in relation to a drive-by shooting at Smith Keys Apartments on Washington Street in Texarkana Arkansas. One man was injured in the shooting.

    TAPD Media Release:

On Sunday, June 11th, 2017 at approximately 2:30 pm, TAPD responded to a shots fired call at 3302 Washington. Upon officer’s arrival, a gunshot victim was found near building six of the apartment complex. The victim had suffered a gunshot wound to the right rear posterior. The victim stated that he was standing near a parked vehicle when a white four door passenger car drove slowly through the complex past the victim. The victim then advised that the vehicle turned around in the parking lot and travelled back toward the victim’s location. According to the victim, the driver of the vehicle lowered the vehicle’s driver’s side window, fired a handgun at the victim, striking the victim. The victim was transported to Wadley Hospital where he was treated for his injury.

A description of the suspect vehicle was broadcasted to local law enforcement, and a short time after the shooting, TAPD officers located a vehicle matching the description travelling on E. 9th Street. Officers attempted to make a traffic stop on this vehicle, but it’s driver fled from officers in the vehicle. After a short vehicle pursuit, officers lost sight of the vehicle near E. 9th and Stateline Avenue. This vehicle was a newer model white Honda four door.

During the investigation, detectives learned the identity of the suspect through interviews. The suspect has been identified as a juvenile, and an arrest warrant was been issued.
