Southwestern Electric Power Company has been using helicopters in the construction of high-voltage transmission lines in Bowie County Texas near the city of New Boston.
SWEPCO has been using the helicopters to reduce impact to land and minimize damage to property. The project is to build 345,000 high-voltage lines that stretch from Texarkana to Valiant Oklahoma. Construction of the 77-mile line began in Oklahoma in early 2014 and is expected to be complete in Oklahoma and Texas in late 2016.
