Texarkana Animal Control Officers Confiscate Neglected Horses

Officers with Texarkana Animal Control confiscated 5 horses from property on Thatcher and Preston Streets in Texarkana Arkansas. The horses were relocated to a local horse and animal rescue and are expected to recover from undernourishment.

Charles Lokey said that the horses were malnourished and being kept in dangerous conditions. The owner had violated code by having too many animals on one lot. Officials were working with the owner to fix the problems but were not seeing any improvements.

The owner will be facing charges for neglect and citations for code violations.
