The Texarkana Texas Police are investigating a case where a 12-year-old was accidentally shot by his 9-year-old little brother. The youngster was transferred to Arkansas Children’s Hospital in Little Rock and is in stable condition.

The Texarkana Texas Police Department is investigating an accidental shooting of a twelve year old boy by his nine year old bother at their residence.
Officers were dispatched to a report of a shooting in the 300 block of Breckenridge Street at 10:09 p.m. last night. Upon their arrival, they found a twelve year old boy with a single gunshot wound to his cheek. They were told that the boy’s younger brother found a .380 handgun belonging to his parents in the home and was playing with it. The pitol accidently discharged and struck the older boy in the cheek. He indicated that he did not realize that the gun was loaded. The children’s mother was home at the time but was not in the room when the shooting occurred.
The victim was transported to Christus St. Michael by ambulance and later airlifted to Arkansas Children’s Hospital in Little Rock as a precautionary measure. He is listed in stable condition, and his injuries are not considered to be life threatening at this time.
Detectives continue to investigate the incident.
