Texarkana Police Warn Public of Rise in Use of ‘Fake Movie Money’

The Texarkana Texas Police Department is warning area merchants and the public about an increase of people passing “fake movie money’ in the area. Here are some photos to give you a better idea of what to look for.

TTPD Press Release:

In recent weeks, the Texarkana Texas Police Department has noted an increase in suspects passing “movie money” as currency when purchasing or attempting to purchase items.  The fake money appears similar to US currency but will have “for motion picture use only” or “copy” stamped on the bill. The police department wants to alert merchants and citizens selling items online to be mindful of these bills when accepting money. It isn’t illegal for a person to possess this money, however if you pass or try to pass these fake bills as real currency you may face felony charges. If you encounter a suspect trying to pass this fake money contact the Texarkana Texas Police Department immediately.
