Texarkana Texas Police are investigating a shooting on Wade Lane that left one man dead, and a woman was transported to a local hospital in critical condition. The victims were discovered when a child got home from school and was unable to get into the house.

We got a suspicious circumstances call about noon today in the 400 block of Wade Lane after a child got off the school bus and couldn’t get in his house. Despite knowing his parents should be home, all the doors were locked and no one would answer the door. He didn’t know what else to do, so he called us to help him.
After we were able to get ahold of the landlord, he came over with his keys to let us inside the home. When we went in, we found a seriously injured woman laying in the floor and a man dead from an apparent gunshot wound. The woman was transported to the hospital with unknown injuries.
It’s very early in the investigation, and there are more questions than answers at this point. Detectives are investigating at the scene right now and working to figure out what happened.
