    Victim in Fatal Accident on U.S. 71 this Morning Identified

    The Texas Department of Public Safety has released information regarding identities of those involved in an early morning accident on U.S. 71 that claimed the life of a young woman from Ashdown, Arkansas.

    Texas DPS Press Release:

    On 01/25/17, at 8:41 a.m., Texas Department of Public Safety Troopers responded to a two vehicle crash on US-71, approximately 1.5 miles north of Texarkana.

    The preliminary crash investigation indicates a 2009 Mack Truck-Tractor, towing a Trailer, was traveling north in the right lane of US-71 when struck from behind by a 2007 Honda 4-door passenger car.

    The Honda driver, Courtney Kaylyn Jewell, 23 year old female from Ashdown, AR was pronounced dead on scene by JP Nancy Talley.

    The Truck-Tractor driver, Glenn Paul Fuller, 34 year old male from Texarkana and passenger, Doug Cochran, also from Texarkana, TX were not injured.

    This is an ongoing investigation. No additional information is available at this time.
