It is being reported to texarkanaFYI by employees of Whiskey River Harley Davidson, members from the Adam Smith management team and Harley-Davidson that the Texarkana dealership has re-opened under new ownership. The Dealership has been purchased by Calculated Risk Group, the management group for Adam Smith’s Authorized Harley-Davidson Dealerships.
Peggy and Maurice LeFerve have quietly been working on the deal for a little while and now that the agreement has been struck and closed Calculated Risk Group will be the operators for the Texarkana dealership. Whiskey River will re-open under the same name for now, but speculation is that it will be added under the Adam Smith banner.
Calculated Risk Management Group owns and operates a number of Adam Smith’s dealerships in Texas with his closest to Texarkana being located in Longview Texas. The group manages Adam Smith dealerships in Texas with locations in Bedford, Sherman, Waco, Longview, and Nacagdoches.

Adam learned to ride a motorcycle before he learned to ride a bicycle. A 50cc mini bike and a crosstie is all he needed to get started. To date, Adam has ridden over a quarter of a million miles across the US, including scenic rides through Alaska, Sturgis, Daytona, and more.
Adam was born and raised in the DFW area. After a brief stint in the bicycle industry, Adam joined the Harley-Davidson motorcycle business in 1991. In 1996, Adam opened his first Harley-Davidson dealership in Grand Prairie, TX making him the youngest person to own and operate a Harley-Davidson dealership at the age of 22.
Among changes planned are an enhanced events calendar which will include onsite Bike Nights and Garage Parties, as well as New Rider Boot Camps and organized rides to both local and far-away destinations. The Texarkana site will also be an active part of the Texarkana community. Texas Harley in Bedford, for example, is a staunch supporter of Community Storehouse, which provides basic needs and academic programs for local children.
