We had the opportunity to sit down with Aiden Howard about all of his plans for the 2022 Juneteenth Celebration in downtown Texarkana. This Saturday, June 18 beginning at 2:00 pm, events and activities are planned for EVERYBODY!

Aiden is a super bright young man, extremely polite, and motivated to make good changes in our community. He attends Middle School in Texarkana, Arkansas, plays football, and is an excellent student.

This kid has a big heart for others and as a young man, we know he has a super bright future that will positively affect many that he meets in his life. Lots of interest at 13, but whatever this kid decides to do, we want to keep an eye on him because he is going to do great things.

We spoke with Aiden about the plans for this weekend’s Juneteenth activities planned for downtown Texarkana this Saturday, in conjunction with The Scholars Program.

This year’s activities begin with the 2022 Juneteenth Parade beginning at 2:00 pm from Broad Street onto Front Street. Beginning at 3:00 pm there will be local performers, speakers, a BBQ Rib Competition, Sweet Potato Pie Contest, Video Game Truck, Food Trucks & Vendors, bouncy houses, and other kid attractions. There really is something for everyone, this Saturday, June 18 at Front Street Plaza behind Crossties.

After more than 40 years with commercial broadcasting, I decided to do my own thing by blogging, and taking "unconsultant" gigs. It affords me the ability to stay super involved in the community, but still, have plenty of time with my 3 granddaughters and other projects.
