After a brief investigation, the Wake Village Police Department, with the Bowie County Sheriffs Department and Nash Poice Department served a warrant on a home on 7th Street for convicted sex offender Ronnie Lee Ponder II. Police also discovered Shyan Deon White and Sonny White asleep in a pickup truck, with warrants.

Wake Village Police Department received information that Ronnie Lee Ponder II, a convicted sex offender, had been staying at a location in the 5200 Block of West 7th Street without registering his sex offender status with Wake Village Police Department. After a brief investigation, a felony arrest warrant was obtained for Ponder for the charge of Sex Offenders Duty to Register with a Previous Conviction. Ponder has been previously convicted for failing to register as a sex offender in the State of Kansas. On 08-31-2020, WVPD along with officers from the Bowie County Sheriff’s Office and the Nash Police Department went to arrest Ponder. As Ponder was being taken into custody, 2 other individuals were found asleep in a pickup truck. Sonny White (W/M, 06-21-2002) fled from the scene and was taken into custody after a short foot pursuit and Shyan Deon White (W/M, 01-14-1999) was taken into custody at the original scene. Ponder was placed under arrest for the Wake Village felony warrant and a hold was placed for Texarkana Arkansas Police Department as they too had a Failure to Register warrant on Ponder. Sonny White was arrested on Felony Probation Violation warrants for the original charges of Evading with a Vehicle and Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle. Shyan White was arrested on a Felony Probation Violation warrant for Evading with a Vehicle. No bonds have been set at this time.
