Of course, May 5 is Cinco De Mayo and a lot of folks party for the event, but it’s more than just salsa, cerveza, and tequila. The day is recognized as the celebration of Mexico’s victory over the French at the Battle of Puebla in 1862. Lots of parties around town, so hit your favorite spot.
Seis De Mayo is another big day with the Texarkana Twice as Fine Wine Festival taking place at Spring Lake Park on Saturday from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm with socially sanctioned day drinking, live music all day, vendors, merchants, artists, and some of the best wineries in Texas.
