Earlier this afternoon, a potentially tragic accident was averted at Bringle Park’s boat ramp when quick-thinking bystander Ricky Dumas sprang into action. A 79-year-old man accidentally drove his Honda Accord into the lake, sending it sinking into the murky waters.
Ricky Dumas, who happened to be fishing nearby, heard the disturbance and rushed towards the scene. Upon realizing the dire situation, with the elderly man trapped inside the sinking vehicle, Dumas wasted no time. Despite the looming danger, he bravely approached the sinking car and managed to extricate the driver just in time.
Fortunately, the elderly man emerged from the incident unscathed, thanks to Dumas’s heroic intervention. However, the vehicle remains submerged in the lake, and efforts are underway to retrieve it.
