Earlier this afternoon, a potentially tragic accident was averted at Bringle Park’s boat ramp when quick-thinking bystander Ricky Dumas sprang into action. A 79-year-old man accidentally drove his Honda Accord into the lake, sending it sinking into the murky waters.

Ricky Dumas, who happened to be fishing nearby, heard the disturbance and rushed towards the scene. Upon realizing the dire situation, with the elderly man trapped inside the sinking vehicle, Dumas wasted no time. Despite the looming danger, he bravely approached the sinking car and managed to extricate the driver just in time.

Fortunately, the elderly man emerged from the incident unscathed, thanks to Dumas’s heroic intervention. However, the vehicle remains submerged in the lake, and efforts are underway to retrieve it.

Authorities have praised Ricky Dumas for his swift and selfless actions, acknowledging that his courageous response likely saved the elderly man’s life. Dumas’s heroism serves as a reminder of the importance of community vigilance and quick action in times of crisis.

We also want to praise Ricky, thank you Mr. Dumas for being the good people you are.

After more than 40 years with commercial broadcasting, I decided to do my own thing by blogging, and taking "unconsultant" gigs. It affords me the ability to stay super involved in the community, but still, have plenty of time with my 3 granddaughters and other projects.
