The Texarkana Texas Police have arrested and charged Clarence Baker, 51, of Texarkana Texas, for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon today after he allegedly stabbed another man.

    Press Release:

The Texarkana Texas Police Department arrested Clarence Baker, 51, of Texarkana Texas, for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon today after he stabbed another man.

Officers were dispatched to an apartment complex in the 3600 block of Elizabeth Street at 11:11 this morning on a possible stabbing.  Baker apparently believed that the 53 year old victim was romantically involved with his girlfriend and confronted him in the complex’s parking lot.  The two fought, and Baker produced a knife from his pocket.  Baker cut the victim on his hand and then pursued him through the complex with the knife and a broom handle.  At some point, he managed catch up with the victim and stabbed him on the back of the arm.  Baker fled into his apartment, where officers subsequently located and arrested him without incident.

The victim was transported to Christus St. Michael Hospital where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Baker was transported to the Bi-State Jail, where he awaits a bond hearing on Tuesday morning.
