With the resignation of White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer, Ark-La-Tex native Sarah Huckabee Sanders, 34, has been named to take over the position. Anthony Scaramucci has been named communications director, a position that Spicer also covered.

Sarah Huckabee Sanders, 34, was born in Hope Arkansas. She is the daughter of former Arkansas Governor and Beech Street Baptist Church pastor Mike Huckabee, and his wife Janet Huckabee. Sarah attended High School at Little Rock Central, and she attended Ouachita Baptist University in Arkadelphia, Arkansas.

Sanders officially began her political career covering field coordinator duties for her father’s 2002 re-election campaign. In 2016 she signed on as a senior advisor for President Trump’s campaign, handling the Trump campaign’s communications for coalitions. After Trump won the presidency, Sanders was named to the position of Deputy White House Press Secretary in his new administration.

Sarah Huckabee Sanders married her husband, Bryan Sanders on May 25, 2010, and the couple have three kids.
