The United Way of Greater Texarkana’s first annual Battle on The Border & Chili Cook-off will take place on Saturday, October 7 at Spring Lake Park from noon to 8:00 pm. This will be a huge battle of the bands contest and an East Texas-sized Chili Cook-off.
United Way of Greater Texarkana is presenting: THE 1st Annual BATTLE ON THE BORDER with 100% of the net proceeds going to fund the Dolly Parton’s “Imagination Library” program in our area!
Come out to Spring Lake Park on Saturday, October 7th from Noon to 8 PM
The “Battle on the Border” features all genres of music from local bands and groups from all over Texas, Arkansas, and Louisiana battling for $5,250 in prizes.
An East Texas-Sized Chili Cook-off that will mirror the old Legendary Horned-Hog Cook-off from historic quadrangle days! This will be an internationally sanctioned event with the winners moving on to the next level.
Beer and wine will be sold at the concert beer garden, the chili cook-off beer garden, and the VIP Tent.
Horse Shoe Tossing Contest! Limbo Contest! Hula Hoop Contest! And more… Don’t miss it!
