The Texarkana community is mourning the loss of Rat, a cherished therapy horse at Runnin’ WJ Ranch. Rat passed away, leaving a deep void in the hearts of many who knew and loved him.
Rat was more than just a horse; he was a friend and a source of joy and healing for the special needs community at the Ranch. His gentle spirit and unwavering dedication made a significant impact on the lives of many, particularly in his role as a therapy horse. From the day he arrived at Runnin’ WJ Ranch, it was clear he was special, a sentiment echoed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
In a heartfelt statement, Rat’s Horse Champion expressed his sorrow: “Today I lost a friend. He may have been a horse, but he was a big part of mine and Kim’s life. He was her therapy horse and I led him during class. I was his leader with other students as well. He did his job well and will be missed.”
The Ranch, renowned for its equine therapy programs, serves as a beacon of hope and support for the special needs community. Rat’s contributions to these programs were immeasurable, and his loss is felt deeply across the community.
“We love you, buddy, and you will be missed so much,” read a poignant message from the Ranch. Though Rat is no longer with us, the memories of his kindness and the comfort he provided will endure.
Runnin’ WJ Ranch remains dedicated to its mission, continuing to offer equine therapy and support to those in need, inspired by the legacy of their beloved Rat.
