The Bringle Lake Park West and Bringle Lake Park East, two gems of the Texarkana park system, offer residents and visitors an idyllic escape into nature and a variety of recreational activities. Located along University Drive, these parks are conveniently adjacent to Texas A&M-Texarkana and the Texarkana Golf Ranch, making them perfect spots for a day of leisure and exploration.

Bringle Lake Park West, at 7602 Bringle Lake Road, spans seven acres and provides a vibrant setting for outdoor fun. This park features two fishing piers where enthusiasts can try their luck, while kids can enjoy the covered playground equipment. Fitness seekers will appreciate the exercise equipment station and the sand volleyball courts, ideal for a friendly game. Overlooking the scenic lake, a 1,500-square-foot pavilion offers a perfect venue for gatherings and picnics.

A highlight of Bringle Lake Park West is its role as the trailhead for the new Bringle Lake Boardwalk. This boardwalk offers a tranquil stroll along the lake’s edge and leads visitors directly into Bringle Lake Park East, creating a seamless connection between the two parks.

Bringle Lake Park East, located on Bringle Lake Park Road, is an eight-acre sanctuary that invites visitors to step into a lush, natural environment. The park is a haven for fishing enthusiasts with its floating fishing pier, and children will find plenty of enjoyment with the playground equipment. For those seeking a quiet spot for a small gathering, the park features 10 single pavilions scattered throughout its serene setting.

Like its western counterpart, Bringle Lake Park East serves as a trailhead for the Bringle Lake Boardwalk, guiding visitors on a peaceful walk through nature and back into Bringle Lake Park West. This park is for daylight use only, making it a perfect spot for morning and afternoon excursions.

Bringle Lake Park West and Bringle Lake Park East offer a unique combination of recreational amenities and natural beauty, making them favorite destinations for those looking to enjoy the great outdoors in Texarkana. Whether you’re fishing, playing sports, or simply taking a peaceful stroll, these parks provide a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

After more than 40 years with commercial broadcasting, I decided to do my own thing by blogging, and taking "unconsultant" gigs. It affords me the ability to stay super involved in the community, but still, have plenty of time with my 3 granddaughters and other projects.
