Bryce’s is an institution to many long time residents that have eaten at the restaurant, many of us, for all of our lives! News came out when the restaurant announced on social media that they were closing for business after 86 years of serving happy customers.
On February 28, long time operator of the cafeteria Richard Lawrence passed away and rumors swirled about what may become of the popular eatery. Not long after the rumors were that the restaurant was sold to members of the Ledwell family. On the Bryce’s Facebook, this was posted today….
Some news outlets have reported that the very popular Flour Child Fine Foods & Catering may be moving into the building in the future. We hope so!
I have personally eaten at Bryce’s all of my life, from downtown Texarkana thru the move north to the I-30 location. I really do hope the family will consider publishing a Bryce’s Cookbook of some of their recipes… PEACH PIE… still, we just hate to hear that they are closing.
