Copeland’s of Texarkana Restaurant Closed for Business

By Jeff Easterling on November 28, 2016 City News, Restaurant Review

Copeland’s of Texarkana located at 511 E. 51st Street in Texarkana Arkansas has closed their doors for good. Employees were called in for a meeting on Monday morning and told that as of November 28, the restaurant was closed.

A local woman contacted me through Facebook and was left scrambling for a place to have her company Christmas party that was scheduled to be held at the restaurant on Tuesday, November 29.

In a call to the restaurant, we spoke to a manager that reported the staff of 40 people are now unemployed and that the Texarkana employees had no idea that the business was facing closure. We sent an information request to the Copeland’s corporate office but have not received a response. This sign is now posted at the Texarkana store.

The restaurant opened in March of 2012, then Texarkana Arkansas Mayor Wayne Smith even named March 3rd “Al Copeland Jr. Day” after the chairman of the board for Copeland’s of New Orleans.

We sent an information request to the Copeland’s corporate office but have not received a response.

This sign is now posted at the Texarkana store.

After more than 40 years with commercial broadcasting, I decided to do my own thing by blogging, and taking "unconsultant" gigs. It affords me the ability to stay super involved in the community, but still, have plenty of time with my 3 granddaughters and other projects.
