It’s almost everything pumpkin season, and the folks with TMS and the Ace of Clubs House are planning an event where you can create paper pumpkins from books. It should be a lot of fun. Make plans now as participation may be limited.
Press Release:
On Saturday, November 20, 2021, the Texarkana Museums System will be crafting paper pumpkins out of old books. Pumpkins are a major theme when it comes to Fall and crafting a pumpkin that doesn’t rot is even better.
The event will start at 2 pm in the Ace of Clubs Carriage House and you will need to register in advance. Tickets will be $10 for Non-Members and $5 for Members.
The Ace of Clubs House was built in 1885, in the height of the Victorian period and has an unusual floor plan featuring three octagonal rooms at one end and a long rectangular room at the other. It was a private residence for one hundred years and was owned by three different families, before Miss Olivia, the last residence, left it to the Texarkana Museums System in 1985. The Ace of Clubs House offers guided tours Tuesday through Sunday and typically hosts special events such as workshops, lectures, and other activities on the third Saturday of the month.
