Crash Causes Traffic Signal Damage at South Lake Drive Intersection

The signal lights at the intersection of Hwy. 59 and Loop 151 are in flashing mode due to damage from an overnight car accident that took out one of the signal light systems. Authorities say it could be up to two weeks before the signal lights at the intersection are repaired.

From the Liberty Eylau Fire Department:

A wreck early Friday morning knocked down a signal light at South Lake Drive and the southbound frontage road off I-369/Loop 151. The signal lights at both frontage road intersections are flashing red, creating an all-way stop for vehicles.

Due to the extent of the damages and types of repairs needed, the signals will likely remain in the flashing mode until repairs can be completed. According to Texas Department of Transportation, this could take one to two weeks.

Motorists using these intersections are urged to use caution as drivers become use to the temporary traffic control conditions.
