In the 200th Edition of the Farmers Almanac, they are predicting a wild winter and even call out the Ark-La-Tex region for expected “wild conditions” for whatever that means. The publication has officially titled the 2017 – 2018 winter season The Cold, The Dry, The Wet and The Wild”.
Even though they refer to our area as “Arklatexoma” on their official weather outlook page, they call for “tempestuous” weather spells,
points south, including Arklatexoma(where Arkansas, Louisiana, Texas, and Oklahoma abut), be prepared for wide swings in the weather pendulum, from very warm to very cold, and periods of tranquil conditions mixed with occasional spells of tempestuous weather.
In their 200th year of weather prognostication, many claim the Farmers Almanac, for the last two centuries, has maintained an 80 to 85% accuracy rate in predicting weather conditions.
The forecast from the folks at WeatherGeeksPlus seems to echo some these predictions and maybe exaggerate others…
