The skies above Texarkana will be graced with a special visitor as the Goodyear Blimp makes its way to celebrate 60 years of tire manufacturing at the Texarkana plant. This iconic airship will be flying over the area on September 30 and October 1, weather permitting, to mark the longstanding commitment of the plant and its associates to producing quality tires.
Since its establishment, the Texarkana plant has been a cornerstone of tire production, specializing in Cooper branded tires. Acquired by Goodyear in 2021 as part of the Cooper Tire & Rubber Company purchase, the plant has continued to uphold its reputation for excellence.
“We are thrilled to commemorate this significant milestone with the community of Texarkana,” said a spokesperson for Goodyear. “The dedication of our associates and the quality of tires manufactured here are a testament to our commitment to innovation and performance.”
While public rides and tours of the blimp are not available, local media and community members are invited to participate in the celebration by waving and capturing photos as the blimp makes its way across the Texarkana skies. The schedule includes the blimp’s arrival in mid-afternoon on September 30 and exclusive rides for Texarkana plant associates throughout October 1.
