Harvest Texarkana Food Bank Needs Corn Pickin’ Volunteers

Some of our favorite memories were working in the garden with Granny. Just loved picking corn, not so much shucking it, or shelling peas now that I think about it. Our friends at Harvest Texarkana Regional Food Bank are needing some volunteers to pick some sweet corn.

Harvest Texarkana needs volunteers to pick two acres of sweet corn on Monday, June 25th & Tuesday, June 26th, from 8 am to noon both days. If you’re interested, contact Harvest Regional Food Bank, 870-774-1398.

The two acres of corn is located in Little River County outside of Foreman, Arkansas and is being donated to the food bank by a very generous grower, but hands are needed to pick the corn. Get with organizers and volunteers to pitch in. Get more details by calling 870.774.1398 or following Harvest Texarkana Regional Foodbank on Facebook.

After more than 40 years with commercial broadcasting, I decided to do my own thing by blogging, and taking "unconsultant" gigs. It affords me the ability to stay super involved in the community, but still, have plenty of time with my 3 granddaughters and other projects.
