Help Celebrate Our Texarkana Hometown Heroes with Your Nominations

By Jeff Easterling on November 30, 2016 City News, Community Involvement, Hometown Heroes

There are so many people in our area that are true heroes, not just military and first-responders, but teachers, preachers, scout leaders, etc, and there are a lot of awesome volunteers in our area that deserve recognition. So, we want to give them the props they deserve with our TexarkanaFYI Hometown Heroes honor and we need you to submit names of those you feel deserve the honor of being named a “Hometown Hero”.

It doesn’t matter if your submission is doing a paid job, or a volunteer. What matters is that they do more than required to help or influence people to make life easier for others. It could be a school teacher, a coach, a police officer, someone from your church or a community organization like the Boy or Girl Scouts. Submit your nominations for “Hometown Heroes” at texarkanafyi@gmail.com. Be sure to include their name, contact info and all other pertinent information as to why they are one of your heroes. We would also like to have a photo of your nominee to use in a blog post honoring them.

Think about it, and submit your names for “TexarkanaFYI Hometown Heroes” today!

After more than 40 years with commercial broadcasting, I decided to do my own thing by blogging, and taking "unconsultant" gigs. It affords me the ability to stay super involved in the community, but still, have plenty of time with my 3 granddaughters and other projects.
