On Sunday, July 14, 2024, at approximately 9:25 p.m., Hope Police officers responded to a report of a shooting in the 400 block of South Elm Street. Upon arrival, officers found a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg. The victim was transported to a local hospital and is currently in stable condition.
The investigation has identified Marcus Floyd Jr., 19, of Texarkana, AR, as a suspect. A warrant has been issued for Floyd’s arrest on charges of Battery 1st Degree, Terroristic Act, Unlawful Discharge of a Firearm from a Vehicle, and Possession of a Firearm by Certain Persons.
Authorities are urging anyone with information about Floyd’s whereabouts to call 911 immediately. He is considered armed and dangerous.
