Get ready for an electrifying night of high-energy country music as Kin Faux takes the stage at Whiskey River Country Club on Saturday, July 20. Opening the show will be special guest Wyatt Putman, setting the tone for an unforgettable evening.

Kin Faux, hailing from San Antonio, Texas, is known for their dynamic performances and unique blend of Texas/Red Dirt Country. Drawing influences from legendary acts like Charlie Daniels, Alabama, and Restless Heart, the band showcases virtuosic fiddle, powerful vocal harmonies, blistering guitar work, and a thundering rhythm section.

The band’s roots trace back to the crumbling auto plants of Michigan, where their music echoes the authenticity and desperation found in traditional American folklore. This distinct background has led to their music being dubbed “Industrial Dirt.” The journey of Kin Faux began when native Texan Rico Gonzalez moved to Michigan in 2015 and connected with Dan Currier through a country band. As their paths crossed with Jakey Black IX and Ross Barkey, the experimental side project Kin Faux was born, inspired by Texas/Red Dirt music.

Kin Faux quickly made a name for themselves in Michigan, earning accolades like Review Magazine’s Best Country Band and Best Country Musician in 2018. Their debut EP, recorded at Mainframe Studios in Nashville and produced by Bobby Randall, received rave reviews and led to extensive touring across the Midwest and Texas.

Their hit single “Teardrops on the Rocks” peaked at #20 on the Texas Charts in 2019, followed by “Locked Up in Lubbock” in 2020 and their breakout #1 hit “Honky Tonk in Heaven” in 2021. The success of their album Honky Tonk in Heaven solidified Kin Faux as a mainstay on the Texas music charts, earning them multiple awards from the Texas Country Music Association and Texas Regional Radio.

In 2023, they released their latest album, Cheaper Than the Truth, featuring chart-topping singles “Grain of Salt” and “Sunny and 72.” The band continues to grow, with exciting new music and extensive touring planned for 2024.

Don’t miss your chance to see Kin Faux live at Whiskey River Country Club on July 20, with special guest Wyatt Putman. Tickets are available now, so grab yours here and get ready for a night of incredible music and high-energy fun.

After more than 40 years with commercial broadcasting, I decided to do my own thing by blogging, and taking "unconsultant" gigs. It affords me the ability to stay super involved in the community, but still, have plenty of time with my 3 granddaughters and other projects.
