Local Woman Found Deceased in Her Vehicle

The Texarkana Texas Police Department reports that a missing woman they had been searching for has been found deceased in her car behind a local business where she had been employed

    Press Release:

Rachel Baty, the woman reported missing on January 10, was found deceased in a vehicle behind a business in the 2100 block of Summerhill Road last night.

Officers were dispatched to the business at approximately 5:40 p.m. on Saturday after an employee noticed Baty’s Nissan Altima parked behind the business.  Baty had previously been employed there, so the employee recognized the vehicle when they pulled into the parking lot and knew that she had been reported missing.  Upon walking to the vehicle to investigate, they found Baty slumped over inside the vehicle.

The cause of death is unknown, but foul play is not currently suspected.  Her body has been sent to Dallas for an autopsy.

The Texarkana Texas Police Department asked for the public’s assistance in locating Baty on Thursday as she was considered an endangered missing person due to the nature of her disappearance.  Shortly after leaving her Pine Street home on Wednesday evening, she sent text messages to friends that indicated that she might have been planning on harming herself.

After more than 40 years with commercial broadcasting, I decided to do my own thing by blogging, and taking "unconsultant" gigs. It affords me the ability to stay super involved in the community, but still, have plenty of time with my 3 granddaughters and other projects.
