A Miller County Detention Center employee has been arrested following an investigation conducted by the 8th South Judicial Narcotics Task Force in coordination with the Miller County Sheriff’s Office and assisting agencies.

According to a press release issued Monday by the Sheriff’s Office, authorities conducted a K-9 search of a parking lot on Saturday, February 21, 2026, as part of an ongoing investigation. Following the search and subsequent interviews — which included questioning a correctional officer — an arrest was made.

DeAnthony Price was taken into custody on a felony charge of Furnishing Prohibited Articles. He was transported to the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office for holding.

Officials confirmed that Price’s employment with the Miller County Detention Center has been terminated.

Bond has been set at $75,000. Price is scheduled to appear before the Miller County Circuit Court on March 17, 2026. Authorities noted that additional charges may be filed as the investigation remains ongoing.

In the release, the Sheriff’s Office commended members of the 8th South Judicial Narcotics Task Force for their professionalism, diligence and continued commitment to public safety.
