In the early days of Texarkana and through the years, the muddy streets and dark alleys were tough, rough, and cruel. There was lots of gambling, drinking, prostitution, and of course murder. Here is a chance to learn more about the history of some of the events that made this city such a notorious place long ago.
This Saturday, July 25, the Texarkana Museums System will be hosting a walking tour of some of the most infamous sites in downtown Texarkana on Saturday, July 25 from 7:30 pm to 8:30 pm starting at the P.J. Ahern Home located at 403 Laurel Street.
Facemasks are encouraged, and social distancing will be maintained.
Did you know that Texarkana was once the perfect example of the Wild West? Texarkana has a dark history of murder, crimes, bootleggers, and more! Take a walking tour around our historic Texarkana learning about some of the bigger stories of murder and mayhem that once plagued our city. The tour will be on July 25 at 7:30 pm.
