An overnight rollover crash on St. Michael Drive has claimed the life of Houston Hart, 17, of Texarkana Texas. Investigators report that the teen was not wearing a seatbelt at the time fo the single vehicle accident.

    TTPD Press Release:

The Texarkana Texas Police Department is investigating a fatal motor vehicle crash in the 1900 block of St. Michael Drive. The deceased driver has been identified as Houston Hart, 17, of Texarkana, Texas.

Officers were dispatched to a report of a major crash at 2:15 a.m. today where a single vehicle rolled over. Investigators were able to determine a 2013 Smart Car was traveling west on St. Michael Dr. near Summerhill Rd. According to the passenger in the vehicle, Breanna McCarley, 18, Hart realized he was going to miss an exit and turn the vehicle hard to the right. Investigators believe Hart’s vehicle was traveling to fast to make the turn and went into a skid. The vehicle then struck a curb and rolled over. Hart wasn’t wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle. Hart died at the scene as a result of his injuries. McCarley was wearing a seatbelt and was transported to a local hospital with non-life threating injuries.

No charges have been filed in this case.
