The Texarkana Arkansas Police report they are investigating a shooting incident in the 3600 block of Bann Avenue that occurred late Wednesday Afternoon. One man is hospitalized in stable condition. After interviewing a number of witnesses, police still do not have a suspect’s name at this time.
Texarkana Arkansas City Manager, Jay Ellington has named Michael Kramm as our new Chief of Police for the TAPD. Kramm has tremendous experience in law enforcement and city government coming to Texarkana from his position as Assistant City Manager in League City, Texas.
Texarkana Texas Police arrested Alfonso Taylor, 25, and charged him with Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle, Evading Arrest in a Vehicle, and Possession of Marijuana. His bond for all the charges was set at $72,000. The truck ended upside down in a ditch after Taylor attempted to evade police.

The Texarkana Texas Police have charged and arrested Cole Arendt, 20, for manslaughter in the August 30 car crash that killed a 20-year-old bicyclist in Wake Village. The investigation has proved that Arendt was driving his Chevrolet Camaro in excess of 80 mph at the time of the crash.
The 2022 Fall Gathering of Authors will take place Friday and Saturday, October 27 and 28 at the Circle J Cowboy Church in Texarkana Arkansas. This unique event focuses on the many talented writers here in our area and raises funds for The Greater Texarkana Autism Awareness Foundation.
