The Wake Village Police Department has arrested a second suspect in the death of 4-year-old D’Money Lewis. The child’s mother Khadijah LaShawn Wright, 25, of Wake Village is Injury to a Child causing Serious Bodily Injury/Death by Omission which is a First Degree Felony punishable by 5 to 99 years or Life in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice-Institutional Division.
The continued investigation into the death of 4 year old D’Money Lewis by the Wake Village Police Department has resulted in an additional arrest. This morning (March 22, 2018), 25 year old Khadijah LaShawn Wright of Wake Village was arrested on the charge of Injury to a Child causing Serious Bodily Injury/Death by Omission which is a First Degree Felony punishable by 5 to 99 years or Life in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice-Institutional Division. Wright is the mother of the deceased child. Bond has not been set at this time.
Benearl Lewis, 25 years old of Wake Village, Texas was arrested on March 10 and charged with Capital Murder in the death of the 4-year-old. A Capital Murder arrest warrant was issued the morning of March 10, 2018. Lewis was located and taken into custody without incident during a traffic stop by Wake Village Patrol Officers.
