Corporal Clayton McWilliams was severely injured in a highway crash while responding to a call to an accident involving a log truck on Highway 71. McWilliams has now been transferred to UAMS in Little Rock.

    Media Release:

An Arkansas State Trooper with Troop G has been hospitalized from injuries he sustained in a single-vehicle motor vehicle crash in southwest Arkansas at approximately 12:50 PM today (Thursday, January 3, 2018).
Corporal Clayton McWilliams, 32, of Little River County, was initially transported to a Texarkana hospital and later moved to a Little Rock hospital where his injuries are being assessed.
Trooper McWilliams was responding to a crash scene in Sevier County where a logging truck had overturned.
While driving to the crash scene along U.S. Highway 71, northbound, near Wilton (Little River County), the patrol car driven by Corporal McWilliams left the roadway and struck a tree.  Heavy rainfall in the area is believed to have contributed to the cause of the crash.
Reports of his injuries sustained in the accident include a brain bleed, broken pelvis, 2 broken legs, and it is reported he is still in critical condition.
Our thoughts and prayers for a full and speedy recovery are with Trooper McWilliams.
    The accident remains under investigation.

After more than 40 years with commercial broadcasting, I decided to do my own thing by blogging, and taking "unconsultant" gigs. It affords me the ability to stay super involved in the community, but still, have plenty of time with my 3 granddaughters and other projects.
