T.A.P.D. Press Release:

On Tuesday at 11:00am Texarkana Arkansas Police responded to the 1000 block of Cleveland Street in reference to a disturbance call concerning an eviction of a resident.  TAPD Officers arrived and was told by the resident that she wanted to have her grandson, Aaron Kidd, W/M 31yoa, evicted from the residence and that she no longer wanted him living there.  TAPD Officers explained eviction procedures and told the resident to go to the Miller County Courthouse to file for civil eviction.

Then at 1:00pm Texarkana Arkansas Police received a 911 call in reference to a welfare concern of a man lying in the yard of the same residence of the previous call earlier, 1000 block of Cleveland Street.  Upon arrival, officers located a deceased white male, identified as Darryll Kidd, 36yoa, in the front yard of the residence with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.  Inside the residence another white male, identified as Aaron Kidd, was located deceased with a single gun-shot wound.

At this time it appears that Darryll, uncle to Aaron, traveled to his mother’s residence, shot and killed Aaron then turned the weapon on himself.  Both bodies have been sent to the Arkansas State Crime Lab for autopsies.  This investigation continues.

Anyone with information regarding this or any other crime is urged to contact Texarkana Arkansas Police at 903-798-3154 or the Texarkana area CrimeStoppers at 903-793-STOP.
