    The Texarkana Texas Police Department will be hosting the Region 7 annual conference of the International Conference of Police Chaplains at the Texarkana Texas Convention Center. The conference will be in town from Monday, April 23 to Thursday, April 26.

    Hundreds of police chaplains will be staying with us next week at the Hilton Garden Inn on Cowhorn Creek and the surrounding hotels.

    TTPD Public Information Officer Shawn Vaughn said,

    Starting on Monday evening and going through Thursday afternoon, hundreds of police chaplains from across Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Missouri, and Kansas will be in Texarkana completing training that will help them better serve their departments and communities.  We are very excited about this as it is the first time that they have elected to come to Texarkana for this annual event.

    ICPC’s Mission Statement::

    Developing Professional Chaplains through Dynamic Education and Support.” This is what we strive to do. This concept is further defined by our core values, which are:
    We respect and honor the badge and the men and women who have earned the right to wear it
    We pledge availability to the needs of law enforcement officers and victims of crime
    We subject our lives and our office to the scrutiny of accountability to ensure integrity
    We offer professionalism of service, including confidential listening, and spiritual counsel

    After more than 40 years with commercial broadcasting, I decided to do my own thing by blogging, and taking "unconsultant" gigs. It affords me the ability to stay super involved in the community, but still, have plenty of time with my 3 granddaughters and other projects.
