A 17-year-old boy from Texarkana was arrested on October 2, 2024, following a high-speed pursuit involving Arkansas State Police (ASP) and the Texarkana Arkansas Police Department (TAPD). The incident began around 5:30 p.m. when officers spotted a stolen vehicle traveling north on Jefferson Avenue.

The suspect accelerated to approximately 95 mph after turning onto Interstate 30. Near the I-30/I-49 interchange, he attempted to maneuver around another vehicle but lost control, causing his car to overturn in the median.

After being treated and released from Christus St. Michael Healthcare, the suspect was taken into custody and transported to a juvenile detention center in Pine Bluff. He is awaiting trial for First-Degree Murder related to the death of Kendrick Roquemore on September 29, 2023.

In addition to the murder charge, the teen now faces felony charges for Theft of Property and Fleeing. His previous $250,000 bond was revoked by Miller County Circuit Judge Carlton Jones, who has set a new bond of $250,000 for the latest charges.

After more than 40 years with commercial broadcasting, I decided to do my own thing by blogging, and taking "unconsultant" gigs. It affords me the ability to stay super involved in the community, but still, have plenty of time with my 3 granddaughters and other projects.
