Texarkana College was briefly on lockdown Tuesday evening just before 8:00 pm after a suspect in a felony traffic stop fled from police. In the sake of safety, officials at the college notified staff and students via Rave emergency text messages.
Students and staff were notified and told to lock doors and shelter in place for a short time on Tuesday evening. We contacted TTPD and were informed that a suspect ran from a traffic stop but was apprehended within a very short time and all units were quickly back in service.

CAMPUS ALERT: Texarkana College Police and Texarkana, Texas Police have apprehended a possible felony suspect on Texarkana College campus who fled from police on foot onto the campus earlier this evening. The campus has been evacuated and the buildings put on lockdown. At this time, the campus remains closed. As always, please use caution when exiting the buildings and always be aware of your surroundings. If you suspect any activity that is suspicious or dangerous, please call 911. Again, at this time, the TC campus remains closed but normal activities will resume in the morning. The suspect who intruded the TC campus has been apprehended and taken into custody.
