Texarkana to Host Tim Tebow Foundation’s ‘2018 Night to Shine’ Celebration

The Texarkana Arkansas Convention Center will host the Tim Tebow Foundation’s “Night to Shine” an unforgettable prom night for those with special needs on Friday, February 9, 2018.

    At TimTebowFoundation.org:

Night to Shine is an unforgettable prom night experience, centered on God’s love, for people with special needs ages 14 and older. On one night, February 10, 2017, 375 churches, from around the world, hosted Night to Shine for 75,000 honored guests through the support of 150,000 volunteers! Check out the Official 2017 Night to Shine Highlight Video featuring Gary LeVox of Rascal Flatts below:

Organizers in Texarkana have begun making plans for this event and are pulling out all of the stops with big plans for this to be one of the most glamorous nights that Texarkana has ever seen. Amber Ferguson with the Holiday Inn and Texarkana Arkansas Convention Center tells us,

“We are excited and extremely honored to host this event for our area. It is such an amazing organization and the cause for the event is really close to home and very important to me personally. There will be a red carpet entry for our guests, live music for dancing, the event will be catered by the Arkansas Convention Center, games, and prizes, and the plans keep growing as more sponsors are getting involved.”

This event has grown to more than 350 churches across the country with a “Night to Shine” in all 50 states, and more than that, in 11 other countries around the world. A “Night to Shine” is free of charge and volunteers are needed for the event. If you are interested in volunteering or have a special attendee for the event, call 903-838-3223.

We spoke to Sam Clem, Director at Runnin’ WJ Ranch about “Night to Shine”,

“We found out about the Night to Shine events through our work at the ranch and really wanted to bring this event to Texarkana in 2017 but was a bit late for it, but the people at the foundation said they would put us down for 2018. Then recently the foundation contacted me and said that there was a local church, Cross Pointe Baptist Church, that was interested also. So, I got together with my pastor, Kevin Myers, at Highland Park Baptist, and we contacted Pastor Rainwater and have all teamed up to make this happen. There are so many good people coming together to thank, Evergreen, Opportunities Inc., and a big thank you to the Texarkana Arkansas A&P Commission for helping with the funding.”

Organizers are wanting to spread the word about the event to those that may want to attend, and of course with at least 1,000 attendees expected, volunteers are needed to make this special for some of our most special people.

For more information on “Night to Shine” in Texarkana, contact Runnin’ WJ Ranch at 903-838-3223.

We will be updating information, event schedules, special guest appearances, and so on as we get closer to the Prom, but save the date… February 9, 2018 it’s Texarkana’s “Night to Shine“!

After more than 40 years with commercial broadcasting, I decided to do my own thing by blogging, and taking "unconsultant" gigs. It affords me the ability to stay super involved in the community, but still, have plenty of time with my 3 granddaughters and other projects.
