Aviation enthusiasts, mark your calendars! The Texarkana Radio Control Flying Club (TRCFC) is set to host its annual Fly-In event on Friday, April 25 and Saturday, April 26 at the RC Airfield located just below the dam at Lake Wright Patman.
This family-friendly gathering welcomes all types of radio-controlled aircraft, from beginner drones to expert-level jets. Pilots are encouraged to “bring whatever you’d like to fly,” but all participants must be current members of the Academy of Model Aeronautics (AMA).
The event kicks off at the scenic airfield—best found by GPS using 1 Corps Road, Texarkana, Texas 75501. A $25 landing fee applies for those flying, and while there is a limited number of covered pit areas with electricity, spots will be first-come, first-served.
In addition to the aerial excitement, food and drinks will be available on-site, and overnight camping is permitted for attendees looking to make a weekend of it. However, campers should note that no hookups are available.
“This is our big annual fly-in,” said event organizer Donovan Owens. “It’s always a great time for pilots and spectators alike. Whether you’re flying or just watching, everyone’s welcome.”
