You can almost hear the sigh of relief echoing through the Texarkana community today as 3-year-old Kaiden Barnes, who had been reported missing earlier this morning, was found safe and sound.
Miller County Sheriff Deputy Britney McCrary discovered the young boy at the Links at Texarkana apartment complex, where he had ended up after a late-night adventure. Kaiden’s mother had raised the alarm around 1 a.m. when she realized her son was nowhere to be found.
Texarkana police, along with other first responders, immediately sprang into action, deploying drones and search dogs to scour the area for any sign of the missing toddler. Their efforts were also set to extend to nearby waterways as they left no stone unturned in their search.
Fortunately, before the search expanded further, Kaiden was spotted and swiftly reunited with his relieved family. While the exact circumstances of how he ended up at the apartment complex remain unclear, the most important thing is that he is safe and back in the arms of his loved ones.
Authorities have commended the swift response of the community and the diligent efforts of all involved in locating Kaiden, ensuring that what could have been a tragic situation ended with a happy reunion.
More information regarding the official incident reports will be coming.
