When severe weather strikes, every second counts—and now, residents across Texarkana and the surrounding area have a faster, more reliable way to stay informed. It’s free, so get it now!
Officials have announced that the region has officially transitioned to Hyper-Reach, a new emergency alert system that replaces the previous CodeRED notification service. The upgrade is designed to deliver critical alerts directly to your phone via call, text, or email—giving residents life-saving warnings when severe weather or other local emergencies strike.
The best part? It’s completely free for those living in Texarkana, TX, Bowie County, Texarkana, AR, and Miller County.
“Storm sirens are useful, but they’re not always easy to hear indoors, especially during the middle of the night or during loud storms,” said city officials. “Hyper-Reach gives you peace of mind, knowing alerts will go straight to your phone wherever you are.”
The system pulls information directly from the National Weather Service, sending out real-time alerts tailored to your specific location—as long as you register your street address when signing up.
Even if you were previously signed up for CodeRED, you must re-register to continue receiving alerts.

The system also supports the hearing impaired, ensuring accessibility for all members of the community.
Texarkana officials are encouraging everyone to sign up and to share the information with friends, neighbors, and family. “Your safety is our top priority,” the city said. “Let’s work together to stay prepared and protect one another.”
