One of Texarkana’s favorite family traditions is back! Movies in the Park returns to Spring Lake Park this season with three blockbuster favorites lined up to entertain all ages under the stars.

Bring your lawn chairs, blankets, and bug spray (trust us, you’ll thank us later). Concessions will be available for purchase, and early arrival is encouraged to snag a good spot.

Mark your calendars for these Thursday night showings:

📽️ May 29 – Captain America: The First Avenger
Step into the origin story of Marvel’s patriotic superhero as Steve Rogers transforms into Captain America and takes on the Nazi-backed HYDRA. It’s action, heart, and heroism—perfect for kicking off summer fun.

    📽️ June 5 – Paddington
Bring the little ones for this charming, hilarious adventure featuring everyone’s favorite marmalade-loving bear. Follow Paddington from Peru to London as he stumbles into the Brown family’s lives and hearts.

    📽️ June 12 – The Goonies
Get ready for a blast of ’80s nostalgia with this classic treasure-hunting tale of misfit kids, pirate maps, secret tunnels, and the unforgettable Sloth. A must-see for longtime fans and a perfect introduction for a new generation.

🎬 All movies are free to attend and begin at dusk (around 7:30–8:00 p.m.), across from the airplane at Spring Lake Park.

So grab the family, pack your snacks, and enjoy a night out at Movies in the Park—a Texarkana tradition that’s all about fun, film, and community.

After more than 40 years with commercial broadcasting, I decided to do my own thing by blogging, and taking "unconsultant" gigs. It affords me the ability to stay super involved in the community, but still, have plenty of time with my 3 granddaughters and other projects.
