UofA Hope-Texarkana Phi Theta Kappa Attends International Convention

The University of Arkansas Hope-Texarkana Beta Beta Kappa chapter of Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) attended the Annual International PTK “Catalyst” Convention in Nashville, TN, on April 6 through 9, 2017.

The University of Arkansas Hope-Texarkana Beta Beta Kappa chapter of Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) attended the Annual International PTK “Catalyst” Convention in Nashville, TN, on April 6 through 9, 2017.  The UAHT Beta Beta Kappa chapter attended sessions aimed at improving chapter development.  A few of the sessions attended included:

  • Taking the Lead:  Chapter Officer Best Practices
  • Honors in Action:  Collaboration
  • Honors in Action:  Exercises of Leadership and Leadership Development
  • Serving Our Mission through Five Star Chapter Plan Success

Members also attended sessions on professional and personal develop, including:

  • Career Advice and Networking
  • Making the Move: the Transition from Community College to the Four-Year School
  • Failing Epically
  • Scholarship Resume Workshop

Jason Chism, PTK Advisor, said, “The international convention was an amazing opportunity for our students to grow personally and professionally and closer together.  It also inspires and equips the students to build a stronger and livelier chapter at UAHT. We would not have had this opportunity without the remarkable support and generosity of our faculty, staff, and community, and every single member feels a deep gratitude for this support.”
