Texas Department of Wildlife Game Wardens, and law enforcement agencies from Bowie and Cass counties are currently working a search and rescue operation at the Wright Patman Lake Spillway. Witnesses report a pickup truck with a male and female inside plunged into the churning waters.
Reports from witnesses differ. but reports indicate that one of the occupants of the vehicle was rescued by a witness to the incident, while one occupant has yet to be found. Bystanders report that a vehicle broke thru the barrier on the roadway above the spillway and a bystander dove from the wall into the waters and was able to pull out a female that stated her husband was still in the vehicle.
Officials at the scene were unable to give an update on her condition at the time of this posting.
Bystanders have been cleared from the area and Search & Rescue teams are currently working.
Texas Game Wardens can only report that they are currently working on a “Water Fatality Investigation”.
More details will be released by authorities as the investigation continues.
