Get ready to step into the magic of an old-fashioned Christmas as Historic Washington State Park hosts its 38th Annual Christmas and Candlelight Tour on Friday, Dec. 13, and Saturday, Dec. 14.
This beloved event transforms the 19th-century restoration village into a holiday wonderland, complete with thousands of glowing luminaries and festive period decorations.
Starting at 1 p.m. each day, visitors can explore the park’s historic homes and sites, each adorned with charming holiday decor reminiscent of a bygone era. As night falls, the streets will light up with the soft glow of luminaries, creating the perfect setting to enjoy live Christmas music starting at 5 p.m.
For a truly immersive experience, families can take a horse-drawn surrey ride through the village or savor a meal at Williams’ Tavern Restaurant, open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., where the holiday spirit extends to every corner of the dining room.
Admission is $10 for adults and $6 for children aged 12 and under, with a $5 parking fee (cash only). The event offers a unique chance to explore 15 historic sites, including the 1874 Hempstead County Courthouse, an old post office, and the B.W. Edwards Weapons Museum and Blacksmith Shop.
Whether it’s for the nostalgia, the festive decorations, or the cozy community vibe, the Christmas and Candlelight Tour is a must-see holiday tradition in Southwest Arkansas.
