There really is too much for one person to do in Texarkana this weekend. Peak Fighting Championships PF:19, the “Bandit Run 2022” for the 45th Anniversary of “Smokey and the Bandit”, the “All in for Autism” events at Crossties, and Live Music all over town!

The Bowie County Sheriff’s Office reports that Erik Scott Shirley, 28, was arrested and booked into the Bi-State Jail for Criminal Mischief over $2,500 and Under $30,000 after driving his pickup truck into a swimming pool. The homeowner held him at gunpoint until law enforcement arrived.
Texarkana Chamber of Commerce President and CEO, Michael Malone has announced his retirement from the Chamber. Malone serves on many non-profit boards in Texarkana and has been a great leader of the Chamber.

The Texas Department of Transportation shares details on the resurfacing project for Summerhill Road in Bowie County to begin on Sunday, May 15, with most work planned for nighttime hours. The project is expected to last thru the month of June and end in July.
